National Auctioneers Association (NAA)

Founded in 1949, the National Auctioneers Association is the world’s largest professional association of auctioneers. It promotes the professionalism of auctioneers and auctions through education and technology. NAA members are accredited, technologically savvy, and ethical as well as being well versed in the psychology of selling; they are the leaders in their profession. Their education, experience and networking capabilities stimulate competition among bidders, securing sellers the highest price per sale.

An NAA auctioneer can bring potential buyers through their experience with advertising, appraisal, and valuation. NAA members are trained to efficiently conduct sales of a wide variety of commodities including real estate, manufacturing machinery and equipment, and antiques. An NAA auctioneer utilizes traditional live or online auctions, or both, to effectively market your goods. Approximately 6,000 NAA professionals around the globe subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics, ensuring sellers a positive and worry-free sale experience.

Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association (MPAA)

The Missouri Professional Auctioneers Association represents the interests of Missouri auctioneers and provides a forum for networking and sharing ideas and experiences and encourages cooperation amongst member professionals.

The MPAA promotes the auction method of marketing through professional and ethical auctioneering practices. MPAA encourages new auctioneers to enhance skills, knowledge, and professionalism and provides the opportunity for experienced auctioneers to continue their education.

Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA)

The Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers accredits and certifies appraisers of machinery and equipment. Established in 1983 by members of the Machinery Dealers National Association, AMEA has nearly 300 members around the world. Accredited appraisers must have a minimum of three years of buying, selling, and appraising experience. Certified appraisers must have at least five years of experience.

The foundations of AMEA are its Code of Ethics and Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice. These practices conform to the Uniform Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice established by The Appraisal Foundation.

Investment Recovery (IR) Association

Investment recovery is the practice of recouping the value of assets no longer needed by a company by identifying and reusing or disposing of surplus assets. IR professionals also locate usable surplus from outside sources. The Investment Recovery Association is the premier source of professional development for IR professionals, most of whom are employed by Fortune 1000 companies around the globe. By providing ongoing education, skills training, and industry benchmarking, the Investment Recovery Association sets the standards. As experts in asset management, investment recovery professionals save their companies hundreds of millions of dollars each year.

Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA)

The Machinery Dealers National Association is an international trade association dedicated to the promotion of the used machinery industry. It was established in 1941 to assure buyers of the integrity and reliability of used machinery dealers that are members of the association.

The foundation of the MDNA is its Code of Ethics. As a condition of membership, MDNA members agree to abide, unequivocally, by the terms of the Code, and renew this pledge annually. The Code is policed by the association’s membership. Complaints brought from alleged Code violations are handled by the MDNA’s Ethics & Mediation Committee. Severe violations have resulted in expulsion from the MDNA.

Industrial Auctioneers Association (IAA)

The Industrial Auctioneers Association (IAA) is the world’s first and only association comprised solely of industrial machinery and equipment auctioneers. IAA auctioneers combine unparalleled industrial auction experience with the highest ethical and professional standards. IAA auctioneers sell more than one billion dollars worth of machinery and equipment annually from virtually every industry and every part of the world. No machinery is too specialized; no industry is too obscure.

The purpose of IAA is to promote the use of auction sales as the best method for selling idle industrial equipment and to promote IAA members as the best qualified to conduct such sales. IAA also establishes guidelines for the ethical conduct of members. IAA members represent the highest level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with both sellers and buyers of industrial equipment.
