Candlestick Park home of the Giants and 49ers hires Schneider Industries to sell assets

Going-out-of-business sale: The San Francisco Giants recently announced fans could buy seats from the soon-to-be-demolished stadium. Now, Schneider Industries in partnership with Heritage Global announced Monday it will hold a three-day webcast auction from 7 a.m. Sept. 10 to noon PT Sept. 12 to sell off the remaining industrial assets of Candlestick Park.

This includes scoreboards, light fixtures, broadcast equipment, kitchen equipment and more. Presumably, this would also include the locker room stalls where the Beatles hung out before the ’66 concert. “After conducting the sales of both Tiger Stadium and Busch Stadium, we are delighted to assist in the sale of yet another storied stadium, Candlestick Park,” said President Bruce Schneider.

If you attended the Beatles Candlestick Park concert in 1966 and are going to see Paul McCartney again at Candlestick next week, the Beatles Live Project, Ron Howard and White Horse Pictures are looking for you. It announced on Facebook Aug. 5 it is on the lookout for stories from fans who attended the ’66 show and will be there next week to add to its Beatles live documentary now in the works.

The Beatles played their final tour performance on Aug. 29 1966. McCartney will play “Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert” August 14, the final event at the stadium before it closes.
