If it’s BIG at Busch Stadium… It’s for Sale!

Want to buy the scoreboard that flashed “We Win” after the St. Louis Cardinals’ World Series victory in 1982 and many other memorable championship games?

Or the video board that replayed Mark McGwire’s 70th home run before the hometown crowd?

Want to own a game-used tarp like the one that tripped up Vince Coleman in the 1985 National League Championship Series?

Want to furnish your restaurant or facility with all the furniture and kitchen equipment from the elegant Stadium Club?

Or, maybe you just want to have an actual hot dog or concession stand from Busch Stadium for your home or business?

How about taking an “at-bat” from a pitching machine used by major league ballplayers at Busch in your backyard or facility, or take care of your yard with landscaping equipment used by the stadium’s meticulous groundskeepers?

You can bid on everything from the foul net behind home plate to furniture from the luxury suites. These a just a few examples among the hundreds of fixtures and equipment items that will be sold from the old Busch Stadium in a sealed bid sale. No Cardinals memorabilia will be for sale at this offering. Those items will be auctioned at a later date.

“We are very excited to make this offering with the St. Louis Cardinals to the public worldwide,” said Bruce Schneider, president of Schneider Industries, which is conducting the sale. “For people who have other sports facilities, businesses, venues or just have a significant, personal interest, this will be the only major league baseball stadium sale this year and a fabulous opportunity to acquire a wide range of fixtures, stadium and restaurant support equipment and one-of-a-kind items.”

Schneider noted that the sale will mostly focus on “back-of-the-house” merchandise from kitchens, luxury suites, the Stadium Club, video production rooms, maintenance and field equipment, among others. Potential bidders can book a walk-through of items at the ballpark by appointment Appointments may be made by calling Schneider Industries at (314) 863-7711. Do not call the Cardinals’ organization.  All items will be sold in “as is” condition.

Bidders must submit their offers by fax no later than August 19th at 5 p.m. CST. Stadium management has the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Most items purchased by successful bidders will be offered as available for pick-up at the stadium dock. Removal information will be announced during the sale. “This is a historic event, literally a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Schneider said. “For those who have a need for this type of equipment, this is a must-bid sale.”
